Ugandan woman, Nigerian man held for selling drugs at parties

They were identified as Ajahgodwin Chukwu alias Infinity (38) from Nigeria, residing in Kottapakkam in Villupuram, and Kakooza Stella (26) from Uganda, staying in Bengaluru. The officials seized 10 grams of cocaine, estimated to be worth about Rs 1 lakh, and ganja from them.

NIB-CID sleuths said that Chukwu had already been arrested for selling cocaine and that he came out on bail only in February. “He befriended people who frequently attended parties and sold them the drugs,” said an official.

Kakooza Stella had fled to Bengaluru and was arrested by the police there for staying beyond the visa period. She met Chukwu when she returned to Chennai recently and helped him sell drugs.

A special team of Kasimedu Fishing Harbour police arrested a notorious 48-year-old peddler Gunasekaran from New Washermenpet and seized 10 kg ganja from his house.

The police had secured Aruppu Raj of New Washermanpet in possession of 250 grams of ganja and interrogation revealed that he got it from R Guna. Police made him contact Guna over phone, asking the latter to bring ganja for a customer. When Guna reached the spot, police surrounded him. During investigation, Guna reportedly told police that he bought ganja in bulk from Andhra Pradesh and sold them to peddlers in Kasimedu, Washermanpet and Harbour. Police also arrested five peddlers and seized 4.6 kg ganja from them in different cases across the city.
