Duo held for robbing pvt firm employees at gunpoint in Tiruvallur
Police in Tiruvallur arrested two men who robbed workers of a private firm of cash and mobile phone near Gummidipoondi early morning on Friday. This is the such crime involving guns reported in the district in the recent days.

At around 1 am on Friday, as two workers of a private firm in Sipcot were returning home on a two-wheeler, they were intercepted by a duo on a white car near Pethikuppam bridge. The men flashed guns to threaten the victims, and robbed Rs 1,700 and mobile phones.
Following a complaint at Sipcot police station, a special team comprising Gummidipoondi inspector K Sakthivel and SI M Marimuthu were formed to track down and arrest the criminals. Soon, the team nabbed the duo, identified as K Dinesh (30) from Chromepet and R Prakash (25) of Sunnambukulam,
A statement from the district police said the team recovered two hand guns from the accused. They also seized the vehicle that was used in the crime by the duo, from whom the robbed cash and phone were also recovered.In the recent weeks, Tiruvallur police had arrestedtwo persons for gunpoint robbery. One of them was nabbed by the public.
