Eat traditional food to stay healthy: EPS
The people were more disease prone these days due to reduction in the intake of traditional foods, opined Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday.

He was speaking after inaugurating the traditional food festival, ‘Madarasapattinam Virundhu – Vaanga Rasikalam, Rusikalam’, at the Island Grounds here.
Besides consuming traditional food, people should also do exercises on a regular basis, he added. “People should realise that healthy life is wealthy life, and if health is lost, everything is lost,” said the Chief Minister. The Fit India Movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would help in the enhancement of the health of the people, he said. “We should eat only when we are hungry. This will ensure that we stay healthy,” he said, and pointed out that people were affected by diabetes, blood pressure and heart-related diseases at an early age these days.
Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who was also present, said people should prefer natural drinks such as tender coconut water and buttermilk instead of carbonated drinks.
