    FIITJEE students top NTSE scholarship program

    FIITJEE’s Tamil Nadu students achieved amazing results at the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) program. Out of 201 students, 107 students from FIITJEE Tamil Nadu region emerged as NTSE Scholars. The overall percentage share is a whopping 64 per cent under general category.

    The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), a scholarship program to identify and nurture talented students, was recently conducted. It helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship for their entire academic career.


    Students studying in Class 10 are eligible for the process. Conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), it is as the most prestigious examination at high school level in India. The program has a two-stage selection process to receive the scholarship.


    In the first stage, the selection will be done by States/UTs through written examination. Each State/Union Territory must recommend a specific number of candidates based on a quota. In the second stage, the selected candidates will appear for another examination, which would be conducted by NCERT.


    B R Vishnu, a student of FIITJEE Regional held exclusively for Samacheer Kalvi students (TN State Board), have qualified for NTSE Stage 2 (2018-19), proving that the Samacheer Kalvi students can surpass competitive examinations of any difficulty level with right guidance and strategy.


    Every year around 4000 students reach the second stage of which 2000 students [1069 in general category] are finally given the prestigious title of NTSE scholars. The eligible students will receive scholarships for various stages of education.


    For class 11 and 12, the scholarship is Rs 1,250. For students studying their under or post graduation, the scholarship is Rs 2,000. For those who are pursuing their Ph D, the scholarship is given in accordance to UGC norms.
