Public nab man for snatching attempt
The police arrested a 40-year-old man who tried to snatch a gold chain from an elderly woman near Hasthinapuram on Wednesday. The arrested person was identified as Balaji from Vinobaji Nagar in Hastinapuram.

On Wednesday around 8.30 pm, Balaji went to Vasantha’s house in the same locality and asked for a glass of water. The police said that Balaji had consumed liquor at the time and when Vasantha came with water, he had tried to snatch her 1.5 sovereign chain by attacking her with a vessel.
On hearing her cries, the neighbours rushed to the house and caught Balaji after a chase and trashed him. Later he was handed over to the Chitlapakkam police and they have registered a case.Â
