“Vehicular pollution is one of the major reasons for environment pollution and climate change. The state government’s plan to introduce e-buses is a move to reduce the climate change impact and I welcome it,” Ramadoss said in a statement.
The state government launched two models of e-buses in the city on an experimental basis and the central government had given permission to 625 e-buses in the state. The state government was appreciated for launching the e-buses by various political parties and public.
Ramadoss also said that the PMK for long had been speaking about the adverse effects of climate change and demanding the state and central governments to announce climate emergency in the country. The PMK also submitted a 20-point charter to be observed in Chennai to reduce the impact of climate change in the state.
