Duo posing as couple held for snatching chains
Two persons were arrested on Wednesday for snatching chains from devotees at Mazhai Malai Madha Shrine at Acharapakkam in Kancheepuram.

The accused were identified as Pandian (48) from Dindigul and Parvathy (45) from Madurai. The police said that the duo has been posing as husband and wife and had rented a house.
After repeated complaints of missing chains from devotees for the past two months, the Acharapakkam police and the Maduranthagam police started an investigation.
On Tuesday, the police detained the couple. The police recovered 21-sovereigns of ornaments from them and they were remanded in judicial custody. The duo was sent to prison on Wednesday.
