20-year-old hacked to death

The deceased, identified as Surya from Singaperumal Koil near Chengalpattu, was an electrician. The police said that Surya also had several attempt to murder and robbery cases pending against him. On Thursday evening, Surya was riding on his two-wheeler towards Chengalpattu to attend a temple function. When he was on Hanumanthapuram Road, a group of men who came on three bikes intercepted Surya. The police said Surya abandoned his vehicle and tried to run away from them. But the group chased and hacked him to death using sickles and escaped from the spot. 

The Maraimalai Nagar police team went to the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital. The police have registered a case and trying to identify the murderers.
