Scalded by hot water, two kids die a week later

The deceased - Sridharshith (4) and Joshith (2) - were sons of Anitha (27), whose husband Manoharan died in a road accident recently. The incident happened on the morning of August 10 when Anitha was carrying hot water in a bucket to thewashroom.

The bucket slipped from her hand and the hot water fell on her sons who were asleep on the floor. They were immediately rushed to the Burns Ward of the hospital for treatment. However, both of them succumbed to burns on Sunday morning. The Kattur police, who had registered a case on the accident, have altered the sections suitably and have initiatedan investigation.
