2 hurt after tree falls

The incident happened on Aadhipuram fourth Cross Street when the 50-feet tall tree fell on a moving autorickshaw, damaging the vehicle. Ravanan (57), the auto driver from Shanmughapuram, and Damodharan (48), passenger, were trapped under the tree. The duo was rescued by the police and fire services and were rushed to Royapettah Government Hospital. Corporation workers removed the tree from the road and restored road traffic. Police noted that the tree had become weak due to rain and strong wind.
