SCERT releases study materials for Classes 10, 12 new syllabus

A senior official told DT Next that teachers, academicians and parents have been requesting to release a comprehensive study material, a shorter version of textbooks that could act as guide for the students.

Stating that both English and Tamil medium students would benefit from this, he said the students can download the study material from SCERT portal. “Difficult portions in various subjects, which was mentioned by the teachers, were explained clearly in the study material so that students would be able to understand the subject easily,” the official said.

In addition to the study material, a well-designed career guidance material for Classes 10 and 12 students have been released recently. The Directorate of Employment and Training collaborated with SCERT to provide materials such as career guidance handbooks for Classes 10 and 12, brochures with all the available career options and registration cum feedback forms, the official said.

“The Directorate of School Education is concerned about various issues and difficulties faced by students in government and aided schools while choosing the right course,” he said, adding that career guidance programme would be handy for the students and empower them with updated information on courses and their prospects.

The career guidance initiative would also create awareness among the students about various government exams such as bank, Staff Selection Commission, Union Public Service Commission and others exams. In addition, it would give the list of upcoming exams in various sectors, added the official.
