    Intl conference on SDN from Aug 9

    The State Information Technology Department, Anna University and Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) will host an international conference on Software Defined Networking (ICSDN) from August 9.

    The objective of the two-day event is to bring together the diverse set of participants to boost the ongoing work in software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualisation (NFV) systems, especially in the context of enhancing research and development in thecountry.


    The ICSDN 2019 will consist of keynote and invited talks from researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, research laboratories and government, along with panel sessions.


    A senior IT department official said software-defined networking is a fast-emerging paradigm that can revolutionise the next generation of computer networks. According to him, SDN has several applications in domains including Enterprise Networks, Wide Area Networks, Data Centre Networks, and Wireless Networks.


    “All the latest development of SDN and NFV will be discussed during theconference,” the official said.


    The conference advisory committee led by Anna University VC MK Surappa will have IT secretary Santosh Babu and IIT-M Director B Ramamurthy as members.
