Prasanth from Coimbatore went for higher studies to Philippines, where he met with an accident while travelling on a two-wheeler. He was in a coma since then. Though he was under treatment in a Philippines hospital, his condition never improved.
As it would cost nearly Rs 10 lakh to bring back Prasanth to India, his family filed a petition to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. Following that, the CM allocated special funds and made arrangements to bring him back.
On Thursday, at 10 pm, Prasanth and his mother reached Chennai airport and from there he was taken to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
