Ministerial staff held for bid to pass ganja into jail
A 38-year-old man employed as ministerial staff at the Goondas Act wing at the city police Commissionerate has been arrested for allegedly smuggling six grams of ganja inside his ledger at the Puzhal prison on Wednesday.

The police said that Mohammed Rafiq had gone to hand over a few documents at Puzhal prison on Wednesday. A raid was already being conducted in Puzhal prison to check if inmates were carrying mobile phones and ganja. When Mohammed Rafiq was checked while entering the prison, he was found to be carrying six grams of ganja in two sachets, said the police. He has been arrested and further inquiry is on.
