City to host essay, poem competition for students next week

The competition will be held at Government Presidency Girls Higher Secondary School in Egmore on two different dates, one for school students and another one for college students. The elocution, essay and poem writing competition for school students will take place on August 7 and the same competitions for college students will be held on August 9.

The topics for the competition would be provided before the commencement of the competitions and the results would be announced on the same day. The winners of the competitions in both the categories would receive Rs 10,000, first runner up will get Rs 7,000 and the second runner up will get Rs 5,000 as cash price.
