Delhi man’s air gun seized at city airport, inquiry on
Tension prevailed at the city airport after the security officers found an air gun inside a package in the early hours of Tuesday.

Around 1 am, when the officers were scanning the parcels that were to be sent on a Delhi-bound IndiGo airlines flight, they found that one of them had a weapon. When they tried to contact Patel Air Cargo, which was mentioned in the parcel, they did not get any response. Following that, the officers opened the package and found that it hadan air gun.
In the morning, the manager of the cargo agency visited the airport and said that the package belongs to a customer, identified as Venkat Raj Choudhary from Delhi. Venkat had sent a package to Chandigarh by train. However, it was misplaced and reached Chennai.
Venkat was their regular customer and asked them to collect the package and deliver it to Delhi, he said. He also added that he didn’t that the parcel had an air gun. However, the officers were not convinced with his reply and filed a complaint with the airport police.
The police after an inquiry said that Venkat is an air gun dealer and had the required documents. The police have decided to send the gun to the lab to check it.
