Gang held for demanding money from lorry owners
The police arrested three suspected accomplices of gangster ‘Ennore’ Dhanasekaran for threatening and demanding Rs 50 lakh from a businessman at Red Hills.

The arrested was identified as Karthikeyan (38) of Choolai, Giri (35) from Madhavaram and Karthik (53) of Kosapet. The police said the suspects were trying to extract protection money from lorry owners. They had been demanding cash ranging from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh from lorry owners by threatening them. Based on an input, the Red Hills police team nabbed them near Konambedu, and also seized a luxury car and sickles.
