Students to present papers at int’l conference
The fourth International Conference on Cortical Implantology will be inaugurated on Monday. Dr SB Sethurajan, organising secretary, and Dr Stefan Ihde from Germany will inaugurate the session.
Chennai
The conference will have discussions on basal implantology, including immediate placement with cortical management, replacement of the missing teeth with fixed teeth in 72 Hours and maintenance of proper occlusion.
“The conference will also hold detailing of minimally invasive techniques in the field and implant solutions available in the country and implant solutions for Diabetic patient and oral cancer victims for oral rehabilitation,” said Sethurajan.
Experts say that it is significant for implantologists to work with latest technologies that include minimal invasion and prefer non-surgical methods. Pinhole surgical protocols are being followed to offer implant solutions for missing teeth problems instead of cutting the flap and installing the implants as it takes longer to heal. The conference will stress on the need to avoid complex surgeries like grafting of bones and membranes to avoid conventional implant failure.
The three-day conference also offers a platform for students to present papers and posters on the topic — Surgical and Prosthetic aspects of Basal Implants. The papers will be marked and the best ones will be awarded with basal kits and implants.
