Signalling issues disrupt Metro Rail services at Washermenpet
The services of Chennai Metro Rail had problems in the signalling system on Sunday morning, delaying the journey of hundreds of commuters at Washermenpet.

The Metro train services were disrupted at Washermenpet station owing to signalling issues. With the services disrupted, the commuters faced a hard time to reach their destination on time. It caused inconvenience to passengers as the trains stopped for a few minutes. The tele-connectivity to the customer care number 18604251515 was also poor.
According to CMRL sources, the problem was solved at 8.40 am. “Metro train services were disrupted from 8.15 am to 8.40 am on Sunday in Washermenpet. From 8.40 am all metro train services are running normally as per timetable,” a Metro Rail official said.
For the second consecutive day, the train service has been disrupted in the Washermenpet-Airport corridor. On Saturday, a train from the airport was halted at the Central station after it developed a snag at 6.15 am. Due to the snag, the passengers were shifted to another train and continued their journey towards Washermenpet. Because of the halting of the train at Central, there was a consequential delays of trains for nearly an hour in the corridor.
