    SR cancels EMUs, regulates express trains for track work

    Due to track renewal work in Chennai – Gudur section for four hours from 12.15 pm on July 20, and 10.15 pm from July 21 to 26, several EMUs would be cancelled and express trains regulated, announced a statement from Southern Railway.

    Sulurupetta – MMC – Sulurupetta EMU leaving Sulurupetta at noon and leaving MMC at 1.40 pm, and Sulurupetta – MMC leaving Sulurupetta at 3.10 pm on July 20 would be fully cancelled. MMC – Sulurupetta EMU leaving MMC at 12.40 pm and Sulurupetta – MMC EMU leaving Sulurupetta at 6.10 pm would be partially cancelled between Gummidipoondi and Sulurupetta. A passenger special will leave Sulurupetta to MMC at 4.05 pm on July 20.


    MGR Central – Ahmedabad Navajeevan Express (no 12656) will be delayed/regulated at Arambakkam for about 90 minutes and Howrah – MGR Central Coromandel Express (no 12841) will be delayed/regulated at Tada for about 45 minutes on July 20. Santragachi - MGR Central special train (no 02841) will be delayed/regulated at Arambakkam for about 100 minutes on July 20.


    Dhanbad – Alappuzha Express (no 13351) will be delayed/regulated at Arambakkam for about 145 minutes on July 22, 25 and 26, the statement said.


    Special EMU forAthi Varadhar fest:

    SR has announced operation of a special EMU service from Chengalpattu to Chennai Beach for passengers bound for Kancheepuram for Athi Varadhar festival from Wednesday. The special train starting from Chengalpattu at 5.15 pm will stop at all stations with immediate effect. The special service has been announced owing to cancellation of two EMU special services (Chengalpattu to Kancheepuram and Kancheepuram to Beach).


    Suvidha spl to Nellai:

    Meanwhile, a Suvidha special train (no 82607) will be operated from Tambaram to Tirunelveli and vice versa to clear extra rush of passengers. It will leave Tambaram at 8.30 pm on August 14 and reach Tirunelveli at 8.45 am. Train no 82602 will leave Tirunelveli at 3 pm on August 18 and reach Chennai Egmore at 3.15 am.


    Advance reservation for the Suvidha Special trains will open at 8 am on Thursday.
