Robbers held in two incidents
A 27-year-old man was arrested for robbing a pedestrian of his mobile phone at knife point. Two mobile phones and two stolen bikes were recovered from the accused identified as S Durai of Red Hills.

According to the police, Durai is a native of Tiruvannamalai. “On Tuesday morning, Durai intercepted A Ajitkumar (23), who was walking on Kayilaya Mudhali Street, threatened him at knifepoint and robbed his mobile phone. Based on his complaint, we registered a case and traced Durai to his hideout,” said the police. While he was remanded in judicial custody, the police are verifying whether he has any pending cases against him in his hometown.
Similarly, the Royala Nagar police arrested a 26-year-old man who attacked and robbed a mobile phone from a pedestrian on Monday night. The accused, J Raja of Iyyapanthangal, was arrested with the help of CCTV footage from the locality. The police managed to arrest the accused within a day after the victim, D Vijayakumar (21) of Ramapuram, lost his phone. The stolen phone was recovered and he was remanded in judicial custody.
