The deceased was identified as Susil Chandal Fassik from West Bengal, a businessman. Susil Chandal was afflicted with cancer and he was referred to a private hospital in Chennai for treatment. On Tuesday, Susil Chandal, along with his son Sanjay Fassik (32), boarded the Indigo airlines flight to Chennai. As Susil Chandal suffered a chest pain mid-air, the pilot contacted the Chennai Air Traffic Control (ATC) to make arrangement for emergency landing. Around 8.30 pm the flight landed at the Chennai airport. However, the medical team checked Susil Chandal and found that he died of sudden cardiac arrest. The airport police sent the body for post-mortem examination to the Chromepet Government Hospital. Further investigation is on.
