Car catches fire on GST road, no casualties

Duraisamy (59) from Pondicherry was traveling to Vadapalani in his car along with his wife, daughter and grandchildren. While nearing airport, Duraisamy noticed smoke emanating from the bonnet of the car. Soon he stopped the vehicle and asked all the occupants to alight it. Shortly after, the car caught fire. On information, the fire and rescue team from Guindy arrived at the spot and doused the fire. The Meenambakkam police have registered a case. The police said that short circuit might be the reason.
