College profs protest for wage hike
Professors at a private college staged a protest inside the college campus on Wednesday against the management’s refusal to hike their wages for several years. More than 60 teaching staff at the Sriram College of Arts and Science in Vepampattu staged the protest as their salaries had not been hiked for the past seven years.

More than 60 teaching staff at the Sriram College of Arts and Science in Vepampattu staged the protest as their salaries had not been hiked for the past seven years.
The protesting faculty also claimed that there were hardly an facilities in the campus on par with other colleges in the city. “For the past three days, we have been staging token protests and now it is fulfledged,” said Marthandabhoopathy, a professor at the college and one of the protestors. The protestors claimed that the stir would intensify if managed refused to do something about theirdemands.
