    Grocery shop owner held for misbehaving with teen

    The police arrested a 40-year-old man who allegedly tried to misbehave with a teenage girl near Pallavaram on Thursday. The arrested man was identified as Krishnan (40) from Moongileri who owns a provision store in the locality.

    On Thursday evening, a 19-year-old girl had gone to his shop for buying grocery items. As there were no other customers in the shop, Krishnan talked to the girl in a friendly manner. He suddenly pulled her closer and tried to hug her, police said. After the girl raised an alarm, the public rushed inside the shop and trashed Krishnan before handing him over to the Shankar Nagar police station. The girl’s father filed a complaint at the Shankar Nagar police station and police have booked a woman harassment case and arrested him. Krishnan, who suffered injuries during the assault by the mob, is currently undergoing treatment at Chromepet Government Hospital.
