Woman suffers burns in bid to kill cockroaches with kerosene
A 35-year-old woman has been admitted at Kilpauk Medical College Hospital with burn injuries after her bid to kill cockroaches in her house in Tirumangalam by spraying kerosene on them went awry.

The victim Nivedhitha, a homemaker residing in Periyar Nagar at Padi Kuppam near Tirumangalam, was alone when the accident happened, as her husband Baskar and son were out of town, said police. Around 2.30 am, Nivedhitha woke up unable to bear the cockroach menace in her house and decided to kill them. She sprayed kerosene on the cockroaches and tried to burn them. However, in the attempt, she suffered burn injuries.
Hearing her cries for help, neighbours came to her rescue and rushed her on an ambulance to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, where is undergoing treatment. Tirumangalam police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
