2 killed as bike comes under truck

The deceased were identified as Sasi (18) of Madhavaram Milk Colony and Thameem of Tondiarpet. A group of five friends went to Tondiarpet in two bikes to meet Thameem and the accident happened when they were returning after taking Thameem along.

When they were on Erukkancheri High Road around 1.30 am, Thameem who rode the bike tried to overtake a truck, when the bike suddenly skidded. As they fell under truck, Thameem and Sasi came under the wheels and were run over. The third person Sasikumar, who was also traveling on the same bike, escaped with minor injuries.

On information, Kilpauk traffic investigation police sent their bodies to hospital for post-mortem. A case was registered and the truck driver, Sardar Bhai (56) of Kodungaiyur, was arrested. Further investigation is on.
