Student attacked by father-son duo dies

The police who had already arrested Madan (42) and his son Nithyanandan (22) of CLC Lane in Chromepet under section 307 (attempt to murder) changed it to 302. The deceased, P Vignesh (16), was a Class 11 student from Nagalkeni . The incident happened on Friday night while Vignesh and his friend Nanda (19), a college student, went to a church on CLC Lane. The police said that Madan and Nithyanandan stood in the middle of the road without giving way when the students were returning on their two-wheeler. When the boys asked them to step aside, a quarrel broke out. Though Vignesh and Nada left the spot, the accused intercepted them after 15 minutes and attacked them using knives.
