Anna University ties up with NSDL to upload academic records
Anna University has signed an agreement with National Security Depository Limited (NSDL) to upload all academic records of the students, who studied in the institution’s department, autonomous and non-autonomous affiliating colleges in the NAD portal.
Chennai
This is to ensure that the academic awards are stored permanently in a secured digital depository as well as to make the records available online to all stakeholders such as pass out students, academic institutions enrolling their students for higher studies and employers on the 24X7 basis.
Office of the Controller of Examinations of the university said that henceforth, the institution will upload digitally signed academic awards such as original and provisional pass certificates and original grade cards among others. Accordingly, the students could obtain authenticated duplicate copies of provisional and other certificates, including transcripts directly from the approved NAD portal.
For Aadhaar based registration, students were instructed to download Aadhaar record from UIDAI and use it to register on NAD, which would issue an identification number immediately. The university also said that the candidates will also get the access of their academic record without Aadhaar registration.
Accordingly, student should declare all the details on the NAD portal to generate acknowledgement number. The academic institution will review and approve the student’s details and provide NAD identification number.
This would benefit all the stakeholders by eliminating the need for persons to approach educational institutions for obtaining transcripts of such awards or marks sheets for verification. It would also eliminate fraudulent practices such as forging of certificates and mark sheets, by facilitating online verifications thereof.
The NAD aims at ensuring a credible and convenient mechanism for online lodging, verification and authentication of the academic awards issued by various educational institutions.
