Drunk woman falls from 2nd floor, dies

The deceased, Meena of Vandivasal, worked as a construction labourer and stayed with one Mohammed in the first floor of a house near Washermanpet Metro railway station. She separated from her husband over differences and moved to Chennai where she developed a relationship her co-worker Mohammed. On Wednesday night, the couple allegedly consumed liquor sitting on the terrace after returning from work, said police. When Mohammed went to buy dinner, Meena slipped and fell from the terrace, which did not have railing. With grievous injuries on her head, Meena died on the spot. Further inquiry is on.
