Two including juvenile held under Pocso Act

In the first incident, a 22-year-old man was arrested by the Washermanpet All-Women police for sexual assaulting a minor girl. The accused M Azaruddin (22) of Mannadi met the girl from Washermanpet when she visited a mobile recharge outlet. On May 5, Azaruddin took her out and allegedly molested her.

When the girl’s parents became aware of the incident, they lodged a complaint at the Washermanpet police station. After investigations, police arrested Azaruddin and remanded him in judicial custody.

In another case, Vadapalani All-Women police detained a 17-year-old boy for allegedly molesting his eight-year-old cousin, a Class 3 student. Police said that the girl from Nesapakkam had to gone to RA Puram to spend her summer vacation at her aunt’s house where she was abused by her teenaged cousin.

After returning to her home, the girl complained of pain in her private parts to her mother. When inquired, the minor girl revealed the abuse she underwent. Following this, a complaint was lodged at Vadapalini All Women police station. The minor was booked under Pocso Act and sent to juvenile home in Chengalpattu.
