Two held in connection with ATM thefts in city
The ICF police have taken a former private firm employee to four-day custody in connection with a series of ATM heists in the city two years ago.

Raja, a resident of Redhills and Johnson Prabu, who were employed in a private agency and entrusted with replenishing cash in and around Kilpauk, misused the password and stole Rs 8 lakh from an ATM in Ayanavaram, Rs 9 lakh in ICF and another Rs 5 lakh from Rajamangalam.
While the police had registered a case in connection with the heist and launched a hunt for the duo, Raja was recently arrested by the Coimbatore police. But, Johnson who was released on bail and had been absconding.Â
Meanwhile, the Manali New Town police have arrested one more accused in connection with a failed ATM theft attempt in their jurisdiction. While A Kamesh (20) of Ernavur was arrested on April 28, B Vishnu (28) of Tiruvottiyur was arrested on Friday for attempting to break open a Lakshmi Vilas Bank ATM early on April 3.
