DT IMPACT: Railway repairs cracks on twin overbridge at Perambur

It was reported that visible cracks had appeared on the structure of new overbridge which was inaugurated in 2011. While the crack was posing threat to motorists, shrubs grown on the footpath was hindering pedestrians. 

On Friday, the railway workers repaired the cracks on the bridge. “We will complete the works in two days without hindering the traffic,” a railway official said. A senior Greater Chennai Corporation said that they had written to the Railway authorities to take up the repair work immediately. “The bridge was constructed under the MPLADs fund by the railways,” the official said.
