Chennai
The arrested were identified as Silambarasan (24) from Cudallore, Ramkumar (26) from Vellore and Manikandan (29) from Pudukottai. All of them are car drivers and stays in Manapakkam. The police said that the group kidnapped Arun Satish (29) from Kuberan Nagar in Madipakkam as he had taken Rs 1 lakh from them a few months ago after promising jobs.
When Sathish did not share any news about the job and started ignoring them, they demanded him to return the money. As he didn’t respond for that, too, on Monday morning, Silambarasan, Ramkumar and Manikandan kidnapped Satish from Keezhkatalai in a car and took him to their house in Manapakkam. The police said that the trio tortured Sathish demanding to return the money.
Meanwhile, Sathish managed to contact his brother Nithin Kishore and shared his location through WhatsApp. Nithin, in turn, informed the Mandipakkam police. On information that the police are on their way, the kidnappers escaped from the spot, leaving behind Sathish. The police rescued Sathish and began a search for the kidnappers.
On Tuesday early morning, the police arrested the tiro from Keezhkatalai junction and remanded them in judicial custody.
