    In separate incidents, three men, including two autorickshaw drivers, were arrested for attacking MTC crew in the city on Sunday.

    Two MTC drivers, Prabakar (40) of Tiruvottiyur and Gopinathan (38) of Ennore, questioned two autorickshaw drivers for parking their vehicles obstructing the way for buses to come out of the stand on Saturday night. It led a quarrel between them, following which the autorickshaw drivers allegedly hurled stones at them. Prabakar and Gopinathan were injured in the incident and were treated at Stanley Medical College Hospital, said the police.


    Based on their complaint, Tiruvottiyurpolice registered a case and arrested V Jeevanantham (20) and R Manojkumar (24) ofTiruvottiyur. Both of them were remanded in judicial custody on Sunday.


    Similarly, the Koyambedu police arrested a 25-year-old man for pushing an MTC conductor from the bus on Sunday night. The accused, Selvakumar of Tondiarpet, who works a parotta master, was travelling in the footboard of an MTC bus (15F) from CMBT. When Dhana Singh, the bus conductor, asked him to get inside the bus, Selvakumar quarrelled with him and allegedly pushed him from the bus. Dhana Singh, who sustained injuries in the incident, lodged a complaint at Koyambedu police. Following this, Selvakumar was arrested.
