    Chennai

In an attempt to pass on the preserved history and knowledge, a city mall is hosting Kathai, Kalai, Parampariyam heritage walks.

Unlike the commonly-held walks, this one, to be held by historian V Sriram will take history enthusiasts through three different walks, curated to throw light on the region’s richness.

While the Kathai walk highlights the tales from Dasavataram, the 10 manifestations of Lord Vishnu, the Kalai walk will be about the indigenous art and architecture of the region. From the sky-high gopurams to intricately designed mandapams, architecture at every corner has been well thought of.

The Parampariyam walk will not only take one back to the history of Chennai, but will also trace its evolution right from the pre-Colonial era, through the British era in India to the present. Also learn about the historic traditions and stories that make Chennai as we know it.

The walks will be held on May 5, 11 and 18.
