Red sanders logs seized at Central station
A 40-year-old man in possession of 600 kg red sanders logs at MGR Central station was secured by the Railway Protection Force on Monday. He was then handed over to the Forest Department officials.

Workers at the parcel office of the terminal noticed four gunny bags lying unattended near the scanner point. When the bags were checked, they found red sanders weighing around 600 kg inside and alerted the Railway Protection Force.
Following this, RPF personnel secured Mahesh (40), who was found loitering around, on suspicion. Mahesh reportedly admitted that he brought the red sanders logs to send them to Howrah. He was then handed over to the forest officials for further investigation along with the red sanders logs.
