The girl went missing after the school authorities asked her to bring her parents to school.
Swasthika Kumari’s parents, who had started searching for the girl by putting up posters with her photograph and contact details in Tambaram and nearby areas in the southern suburb, are relieved after finding that the girl was active on FB. “It appears that she is with her friends or people known to her. The family is also aware of it. As there is a FIR registered, we expect the family to inform us on any further development,” police sources added.
The girl’s father, Alok Kumar, is working in Tambaram Indian Air Force base and resides with family in Selaiyur. Swasthika is a student of the Kendriya Vidyalaya No: 2, Tambaram.
An invigilator reportedly found Swasthika trying to copy from another student’s answer sheet during annual examination on last Friday. The invigilator scolded the girl and asked her to bring her parents to school on Monday. On that day, she left the school but did not reach home.
The parents came to know about the situation when the school officials tried to check if the girl had reached home. As she failed turn up till late in the evening, parents panicked and lodged a complaint with the Selaiyur police.
