Govt bus rams car, Class 10 girl dies and 2 injured

The deceased, Reshma Sai, had just completed her Class 10 exams and was awaiting the results, said the Koyambedu traffic investigation police who have registered a case.

Two other women in the car — Sridevi and Ramadevi — also sustained injuries on their shoulder, hip and they have been admitted to a private hospital. Reshma Sai’s father, Ravi, who was driving the car, escaped unhurt.

The accident happened when the family was on its way to attend a wedding in Vanagaram from Gummidipoondi. As they didn’t know the route, they went up to Tambaram and took a U-turn to reach Maduravoyal again. The bus rammed the car around 10.30 pm when they were asking for directions.

In the impact, Reshma, who was sitting on the left, suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. The others were rushed to the hospital. On information, the Koyambedu traffic investigation police registered a case and arrested the driver of the bus, James. Ravi is an ex-army man and works as a security officer with a private firm now, the police said.
