Phone thief returns to fetch his slippers, handed over to police

The incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday at the Corporation lane in Pulianthope. The victim Seetha was sleeping in her house with the doors open for better ventilation. When she woke up, she found her phone missing and lodged a complaint at the Pulianthope police station.

In the afternoon, a man was secured on suspicion by the residents as he was found loitering around and handed over to the Pulianthope police. Interrogation revealed that the man identified as I Margo (26) of Vyasarpadi, was the one who stole Seetha’s phone and he returned as he had forgotten his slippers at the house. The phone was recovered and the accused was remanded in judicial custody.
