Smuggled gold worth Rs 27.6L seized

On Friday night, officials checked passengers who arrived from Colombo and intercepted Shiek Alaudeen (34). They found him hiding a gold piece inside his rectum. The gold was weighing about 234-grams worth Rs 7.6 lakh. In the second incident on Saturday morning, while checking passengers from Kuala Lumpur, the officials stopped Mohammad Asmatullah Khan (31), Shabeer Ahmad (20) and Mohideen Gani (41). All of them were carrying gold inside their rectum. The gold, weighing about 610 gram, was worth Rs 20 lakh. They were detained for further inquiry.
