Chennai
Pazhavanthangal was dug up from an empty ground in Nandambakkam on Thursday.
The Nandambakkam police came to know about the murder after a WhatsApp message, allegedly circulated by the killer himself, reached them. It said that the body of a man was buried in the empty ground in the locality. When they inspected the spot, the police found that the information was true. Soon, the body that was buried merely 1.5 feet deep, was dug out.
During the inquiry, police found that a local history sheeter named Ananda Kumar (26) from Nandambakkam was behind the murder. On Friday morning, police arrested him from Puducherry.
According to police, the murder was a fall out of a tiff between Kubesh and Ananda Kumar on Tuesday. Kubesh, who had many cases against him, was out on bail. After they consumed alcohol along with a few friends, a fight broke-out between Kubesh and Ananda Kumar, during which Kubesh attacked the latter and took Rs 24,000 money from him. On Wednesday, Ananda Kumar and his friend Karthick went to Kubesh’s house and asked him to return the money. But Kubesh refused to do so.
Following this, Ananda Kumar and Karthick decided to murder him. They hatched the plan and invited Kubesh to an empty ground in Nandambakkam for a booze session. After getting him drunk, Ananda Kumar and Karthick attacked him with bottles. After confirming that he was dead, they buried his body in the ground. Ananda Kumar then shared the message to his friends through WhatsApp, which made the rounds and eventually reached the Nandambakkam police. On Friday morning, police arrested Ananda Kumar and are searching for his friend Karthick who is absconding.
