A token to ‘respect food delivery agents’
A recent video shot by a Zomato delivery agent at the Providence mall in Puducherry showed that he was dragged outside for asking the authorities why there was no allotted bike parking for delivery agents.

He was in the mall to pick up an order from a customer, when the mall staff asked him to leave the premises saying, “This is a private property and agents like you cannot enter here. If you had come without the red T-shirt, the respect we would have given you would have been different but today, this is all you deserve.”
This sparked outrage among customers of the food delivery service as well as restaurateurs themselves. Suresh Radhakrishnan, the founder of Chai Kanth, spoke out on social media condemning this harassment. “It is disheartening to see the video of a delivery person being harassed in one of the malls in Puducherry. Respecting another person is a moral responsibility of every human being. As a token of respect, we will offer free tea to delivery people at all our outlets,” he said, without mentioning for how long this offer would be valid. “This initiative to respect the delivery persons, who tirelessly work with us in getting the food to the customer within the stipulated time,” he added.
