One dead, 2 hurt in road accident near Ponneri
One person died and two others sustained grievous injuries after a cinema crew from Chennai, who had gone to Pulicat near Ponneri to scout for location to shoot a feature film, was involved in a road mishap on Tuesday.

Police said Karthik (34), a filmmaker, had gone with his friends Vijayakumari (39) and Ashwin (29) to Pulicat lake to identify shooting locations. “While driving on the road, Karthik who was behind the wheels lost control of the vehicle on a desolate road resulting in the vehicle plunging into a water body by the roadside,” a police official said.
Locals who noticed the car turned turtle immediately alerted the Ponneri police, who rushed to the spot and took the victims to the Ponneri government hospital. While Karthik was declared dead, the other two who sustained grievous injuries where rushed to Ponneri Government hospital.
