16-year-old rapes elderly woman

Police said that a few boys were consuming liquor in the government community hall and ground in the locality. After this, one of the boys went to the woman’s house, where she was sleeping, and raped her under the influence of alcohol.

After the woman shouted for help, neighbours rushed to her rescue while the minor boy escaped from the spot. On information, the MKB Nagar all-women police inspector went to the spot and sent the woman to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for treatment.

The inspector said that the victim is stable. Meanwhile, the police launched a hunt and nabbed the 16-year-old boy. He was a school dropout and addicted to liquor, said the police.

“He usually consumes alcohol in the community hall with his friends. While others left to their houses on Monday, he went to the elderly woman’s house and raped her,” said the police.

He was produced before juvenile magistrate court and sent to an observation home. The residents alleged that the community hall in the locality has turned into an ideal spot was miscreants and anti-social activities. They also demanded to increase the police patrol in the locality to curb these activities.
