3 teen boys held for stealing Rs 2.3L gold

The police said that Sathish Kumar (34), a resident of Balamurugan Nagar in Alapakkam, had gone to Villupuram on Tuesday morning while his wife left for work. Around 8 pm, when she returned home, she found gold jewellery, a silver anklet and the window air-conditioner missing. She immediately alerted Sathish Kumar, who rushed back tocity and lodged a complaint with theMaduravoyal police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the thieves entered the house by removing the window AC on the room wall and escaped through the front door. A hunt was launched for the suspects and after inquiry three juveniles aged 17, 15 and 14 were nabbed. The stolen jewellery was retrieved from them before they were produced before Tiruvallur juvenile court and sent to a government shelter.
