3 held with 27 kg ganja
Police seized 27 kg ganja from three people in two separate incidents in the city on Wednesday. This includes the arrest of a ganja peddler by the sleuths of the Narcotics Intelligence Bureau on Wednesday – the third arrest by the bureau in as many days.

The arrested person was identified as K Siva (30), a native of Uslampatti in Madurai. Sources said the suspect was arrested from Chennai Central railway station with 21 kg ganja worth Rs 8 lakh.
He was smuggling it from Andhra Pradesh to Madurai where he was planning to sell it, said officials.
In another seizure, the Chennai city police arrested two persons at Pulianthope with 6 kg ganja.
They were carrying it on an auto-rickshaw when the local inspector and his team intercepted it at Stephan Road by on Tuesday night during vehicle check.
The two tried to run away leaving behind the auto-rickshaw, but the police chased and nabbed them.
The team then found 6 kg of contraband and arrested the two, identified as Sathish (25) and Dixon (44) from Otteri.
