Cops get their hands dirty to clean up school
A group of 70 traffic police personnel attached to Kilpauk police district on Saturday turned around the premises of a government high school on Thiyagappa Street clearing the garbage and other unwanted items.

They also applied pesticide in the sewers and carried out mosquito fumigation in the school premises, besides painting the gates.The personnel interacted with the school students as well during the day.
When contacted, Anbazhagan, a sub-inspector, said that it was an initiative to make the students shed their fear of police. “We also explained how students should respond in the event of an accident,” he said. Similarly, police personnel attached to Nungambakkam railway station also cleaned up a government school in their locality.
While them being shown in a poor light in the recent days, the traffic police personnel believe that such activities would help of clear the negative impression.
