Palaniswami, in a statement, said, “There are already 146 ambulances for the ‘102’ service, and to add to the fleet, 15 new ambulances were added at a cost of Rs. 1.65 crore”.
The scheme, meant for transporting newly-delivered women and infants back to their homes after delivery and treatment, was flagged off by late Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa, in 2013. Since the inception of the ambulance scheme, 3,95,205 new mothers have been benefitted.
Later, Palaniswami also unveiled the Tamil Nadu Combined Development Regulation and Building Rules, 2019, and the first copy of the book was received by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.
According to the rules, the Floor Space Index (FSI) has been raised which will pave way for an increase in the number of floors in apartments.
“The new rules would pave way for cheap houses for economically deprived people”, said Palaniswami, in a statement.
The applications for constructing new buildings would be approved at the earliest and any violation in construction would be traced out at the earliest, according to the rules.
