The single author, who was in the city on Wednesday and Thursday as part of her Indian tour, has authored six best-selling novels, two of which — Not finding Mr Right and Avoiding Mr Right — won her millions of women readers.

Speaking about finding the importance of finding the right companion, Anita says, “I believe in true love and in finding the right companion. But, being single now does not bog me down, or stop me from living my life to the fullest.”

The search for the perfect partner can seem endless and simply exhausting at a point, but that doesn’t mean that one should settle, she says. “A romantic relationship, like any other relationship involves making compromises. But it’s not right to compromise on your beliefs, or your world view, just to settle down with someone. I do believe there is that one person for anyone, but I also know exactly what I want and will wait for however long to get it right,” Anita adds.

In fact, her next work of fiction, is about a love story that unfolds in 1852, when the Gundagai floods hit Australia, one of the greatest calamities the country had to survive. “Patriarchy, environmental repercussions and other topics will seep through the love story,” she says.
